I dreamed a dream

Hungry
Had a dream last night in which a really cute guy came over to give me a Twinkie.

You can imagine how bummed I was when I woke up... no cute guy and no Twinkie.

Think a visit to Cybercandy may be in order.

Happiness
The other day I was in Waterstones where I went a bit mad with the book buying....I bought:

'The Mortal Instruments' trilogy by Cassandra Clare (am I mistaken in thinking she's the person who wrote the 'Draco Trilogy'?

The first two books in 'The Hunger Games' trilogy (yes, yes.  I know I posted saying that these books were a rip off of something else, but I was curious.  So there you have it.

'Sharp Teeth' by Tony Barlow which actually looks really good.  I'm looking forward to reading it!  And I also got the book of 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' because I really liked the film and the books are supposed to be better, right? And 'Handling The Undead' by the same guy who wrote 'Let The Right One In'  (which is better than the film btw)

There were others that I have my eye on, but I think that can wait for Christmas! =D

I may have been quiet lately, but I have also been busy.  Work mostly.  And sleep (I like sleep).  And I've been trying to fit in other stuff like friends and cosplay.

Speaking of which...

I've been neglecting my cosplay lately, and I'm only just getting motivated to do it again.  This is because of various reasons which I won't bore you with now.  But now I'm back now, which is what matters, so:

Sadako cosplay - Pretty much done.  All I needed to do for that really was put together a very simple white dress/nightgown, which was pretty straightforward.  I also have a long black wig , which I ordered from ebay.

Chise - Is coming together.  I have the wig, socks and shoes, and also the jacket.  I'm also working on the weapon, which is coming along nicely, if I do say so myself!

Dark Walter - Is not started yet, but to be honest I have more than enough on my plate already, so I'm not going to stress out about that, because there really is no rush.

Is it just me or is 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins a rip-off of 'Lord of the Flies'?  or 'Battle Royale'?  Or 'Ender's Game'?

It all seems very familiar to me somehow.

Popped into HMV during my lunch hour today, and picked up "Let the Right One In" on dvd.  And then I saw that they had the book it was based on as well, so I bought that too.  There's going to be an American remake apparently, so I want to see the original before that happens.  I'm.....not really keen on remakes as a rule.  They almost never match up to the original (IMO) and I'd rather things were just left alone.  Like Ringu.  The remake of that was shite.  Well I think it was.

But speaking of Ringu.......

I'M GONNA DO A SADAKO COSPLAY XD XD XD!!

Maybe not a groundbreaking choice of costume, but I'm looking forward to it - especially practising the walk (hey you'd be walking funny too if you'd spent all those years down a well) and I'm gonna get a looong black wig too!

And then there's my other cosplay venture.  Dark!Walter:

I've never cosplayed a guy before, so it should be interesting!

Anyway.  Laters!

Don't you just hate it when you're trying your damnest to help someone and all they want to do is get their bitch on?

Yeah.  It sucks.

My nephew threw an absolute shit fit in the car because he dropped his ice-cream on the pavement outside.  And when he finally calmed down he realised he'd lost one of his 3 pokemon.

Cue screaming match #2

My ears are still ringing ==;;

I forgot to mention, but the other night I dreamt I was married to Pegasus from YuGiOh!  Which was weird.  Although he did give me a lovely pair of saphire and diamond earrings.  I was quite disappointed when I woke up and realised I didn't really have them.

Also he kept flossing his teeth and calling me 'his darling'

Sooooo.  Went to see Half Blood Prince with [info]cosplayer_nat  yesterday:

Cut for spoilerz )
Also, I kinda want to see New Moon now.  I found Twilight a bit dull, but I have to say that I did like the cinematography.  So I might go, if only for that reason.

Went to my cousin Natasha's wedding yesterday.

It was....interesting.  Not the wedding itself.  That was fine.  I'm meaning the reception.

The wedding was taking part at 2.30pm, so got to church posed for a photograph, got seated, etc.  Natasha arrived and she looked soooo pretty.  It was so weird to see her all dressed up like a bride. And getting married no less - she only like...three years older than me!  Anyway service went without a hitch, and we got on the bus to go to the reception along with the other guests.  Venue was lovely, absolutely stunning.

So all the usual stuff happens, and we went into the dining area to get seated and wait for the bride and groom to come in.  They come in, food is eaten, speeches are read out, etc.

The real fun started at the evening festivities.  The people with evening invites came in and we ended up stuck next to this couple who did nothing but bicker.  All night.  From what I can gather, the guy had arrived at the venue already half pissed from the night before, and the girlfriend was Not Happy.  Then the guy produced this huge cigar from his pocket and starts trying to light it using the table centrepiece, which included a candle.  Even though there was no smoking allowed.  His girlfriend was trying to tell him as much, but he was pretty well oiled by this point (so was she, as a matter of fact) and he was all like "Fuck you, you can't tell me what to do" or words to that effect.  Girlfriend then goes off in a huff, proclaiming that she wants to go home now (about 10pm)  Her boyfriend is too busy trying to light his cigar to pay any attention.

I left the table at this point and danced, chatted to people.  All that kind of stuff.

About midnight and I'm in the foyet for some reason ( little tipsy at this point XD) and see the couple again.  Arguing.  Again.  From what I heard, he wanted to go home now, and she didn't.  At this point he got hold of her bag, tipping half the stuff out of it in the process.  He picked up a lipstick.  And ate it.

I kid you not.  He ate the lipstick.  I mean, WTF?!? Who DOES that?!?  And it was a Chanel lipstick too, apparently.  So she wasn't happy.  And neither was I when I went back to our table to get my bag.  I had left my camera on the table, stupidly and when I got there, some FUCKER had dropped my camera into a pint of beer.  SO.  I was unbelievably pissed off at this point.  I had a pretty good idea who was behind it, but couldn't prove anything.  I suppose it's my own fault for leaving it there in the first place.

The best part is, I got to speak to the bride and groom this morning, and NEITHER of them remember inviting this particular couple!

Running onto the dancefloor and grinding against each other, kissing, etc when "I Kissed A Girl" comes on does not make you sexy and irresistable.  Especially not when you're looking around to see if anyone's watching you.  It just makes you look desperate.  And pathetic.

End transmission.

I gave in and bought series two from ebay, and funnily enough it does actually play on my dvd player.  Win!  I've been looking at 'Fire Walk With Me' in HMV as well and debating on whether or not to buy it.  There are so many dvd I wanna buy!  I saw series one and two of 'Black Books' which looks tempting, and series one and two of 'Spaced' also.  Hmmmm.

Also I've come to a decision on my Alita catsuit.  I was looking at dancewear on this website and saw a turtle necked uinitard which is pretty much what I'm looking for.  Close enough, anyway.

.......does anyone else feel like they're 'copping out' when they can't make something themselves?

Just remembered a dream I had last night.  I was attending a friend's 21st birthday and the venue was a zero gravity chamber!  It was so much fun.  I mean I've never been the athletic/sporty type - I hated games at school, but in this dream I was turning somersaults, 'flying' - you name it!

Yeah.  T'was much fun.  I just wanted to put it down before I forgot about it again!

Dear Subconcious,

I don't know what you think you're playing at, but dreams in which I am taking a shower and see Pennywise the clown emerging from the toilet are not funny.  Not.  In.  The.  Slightest.

So please don't do it again.

Am I the only one totally excited about the possibility of a live action Bubblegum Crisis?!?  True, they could completely and utterly fuck it up, but still....there's also the possibility that it could be awesome.

Either way, I have to see it.

Your result for The Which Twin Peaks character? Test...

Dale Cooper

The FBI agent sent to work on the mysterious string of murders, most recently manifested in the death of Laura Palmer. You are wise beyond your years, keen, cunning and extraordinarily intelligent. Perhaps your only fault is your heart, which may fall inexplicably at the wrong time. You don't partake in anything bad, and you have already fulfilled your greatest dreams, although the ambition is already there. You happen to enjoy eastern philosophy, partaking in minor yoga and such. You also hold a strong belief in the supernatural.

"Harry, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just… let it happen."

Kinda makes me want to watch my Twin Peaks boxset again.  I really wish they'd release Season 2.  Which they don't seem to be in much of a hurry to do...
